  • Wild Atlantic sea scallops
  • Neutral oil or melted butter
  • Sea salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Optional: lemon wedges
  • Optional: fresh herbs (parsley or chives)
  • BBQ grill (gas, charcoal, or pellet grill)
  • Grill brush (for cleaning grates)
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels
  • Grill-safe tray or skewers (optional for easier handling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat BBQ to medium-high heat (about 400–450°F / 204–232°C).
  2. Clean and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  3. Pat scallops completely dry with paper towels.
  4. Lightly coat scallops with neutral oil or melted butter.
  5. Season with salt and fresh cracked pepper.
  6. Place scallops directly on grill grates or on a grill-safe tray with space between each piece.
  7. Grill for approximately 1–2 minutes on the first side without moving.
  8. Flip gently using tongs once grill marks form and scallops release easily.

  10. Remove immediately to avoid overcooking.
  11. Optional: finish with lemon juice, fresh herbs, or a light brush of butter.
