  • 4 bagel halves (regular or gluten-free)
  • 6–8 oz cold smoked wild sockeye salmon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or chives, chopped
  • 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Capers (optional)
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast the bagel halves until lightly golden.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped herbs until smooth.
  3. Spread the lemon herb cream cheese evenly over each toasted bagel half.
  4. Top with cold smoked sockeye salmon.
  5. Add thinly sliced red onion and capers if desired.
  6. Finish with freshly cracked black pepper and serve immediately.
