Who's Larry?

Larry is the father of Glen Creaser, one of our founders, and the inspiration behind Larry’s Catch. As the son of a fisherman on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Glen grew up surrounded by the freshest, highest-quality seafood. When he moved to Ontario in 2016, he quickly realized how much he missed the incredible food from home.

Glen would often ask his father, Larry, a lifelong fisherman, to send him the freshest catch from Nova Scotia. What began as personal orders soon turned into larger shipments for friends, families, and even strangers, leading to the creation of Larry’s Catch. Today, Glen is proud to bring sustainable, Canadian-sourced seafood to hundreds of happy customers across Ontario.

Is there a minimum order amount?

There is no minimum order amount. However, we offer free shipping on orders over $150 or when you purchase a curated box, making it easy to save while stocking up on your favourite seafood!

Additionally, our delivery driver will inform you well in advance when your order is coming, and they will send you a photo of your delivery once it’s dropped off. We do recommend putting your seafood in the freezer or refrigerator as soon as possible once you’re home.

What is the estimated delivery time?

How should I store my seafood once it arrives?

We recommend storing your seafood in the freezer at -18°C (0°F). When you’re ready to prepare a meal, you can thaw the seafood overnight in the fridge or use a quick-thaw method by submerging the sealed bag it in a bowl of cold water.

About Our Seafood

Does the seafood come in individual portions?

Most of our seafood is packaged in convenient 8 oz portions, which typically serve two people. However, there are a few exceptions to note:

  • Halibut: 16–18 oz
  • Black Cod: 20 oz
  • Breaded Haddock: 24 oz
  • Lobster: 16 oz
  • Bacon-Wrapped Scallops: 12 oz
  • Albacore Tuna: 16–20 oz
  • Turbot: 6–8 oz

What fishermen do you source from?

Our suppliers are MSC Certified Canadian families from rural communities spanning the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic coasts.

With generations of fishing expertise, they are deeply committed to sustainability, ensuring every catch reflects the rich heritage and quality of Canadian seafood.

What makes your seafood sustainable?

Our fishermen are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), which ensures responsible and sustainable fishing practices. Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) enforces some of the highest sustainability standards in the world, and Canadian fishermen use advanced technology to minimize bycatch and maintain healthy fish stocks, helping to protect marine ecosystems and preserve our oceans for future generations.

How much seafood do I need.

We recommend planning for 4–8 oz of seafood per person per serving, depending on appetites and the type of dish you’re preparing. Additionally, nutritionists suggest eating 5–6 servings of seafood per week as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

Where is your seafood from?

Our seafood is sourced from Canada’s three coasts: the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Oceans. We work directly with Canadian fishermen to bring you the freshest, highest-quality seafood while supporting sustainable fishing practices.

Is your seafood frozen?

Yes, all of our seafood is flash-frozen using IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) technology shortly after being caught. This method locks in freshness, flavour, and nutrients, ensuring you get the highest-quality seafood every time.

Frozen seafood is always the freshest option, especially for those of us living in Ontario. Over 95% of seafood sold in stores here has been frozen at some point but is often thawed before being displayed to appear fresh. By purchasing seafood that’s flash-frozen and kept frozen, you’re getting fish that’s closer to its peak quality—ensuring better flavour, texture, and nutrition. Living far from the ocean, frozen fish is truly the best way to enjoy fresh, high-quality seafood.

What is IQF?

IQF stands for Individually Quick Frozen, a method of freezing seafood where each piece is frozen individually rather than in a large block. This process rapidly freezes the seafood at extremely low temperatures, preserving its freshness, texture, and nutrients. IQF also makes it easy to use just the amount you need without having to thaw an entire package. It’s the gold standard for maintaining seafood quality.

Is your seafood wild-caught or farm-raised?

All of our seafood is wild-caught. We work directly with Canadian fishermen who use sustainable fishing practices to bring you high-quality, natural seafood from Canada’s pristine waters. Wild-caught seafood offers superior flavour and nutrition compared to farm-raised alternatives.

Does your seafood contain growth hormones, antibiotics or preservatives?

No, our seafood is completely natural and free from growth hormones, antibiotics, and preservatives. As wild-caught seafood, it comes directly from Canada’s clean and sustainable waters, ensuring you enjoy seafood that’s pure, fresh, and of the highest quality.

Is your seafood sushi-grade or sashimi-grade?

The terms "sushi-grade" or "sashimi-grade" are commonly used to indicate seafood that is considered "ready to be eaten raw." However, these terms are not officially regulated, and there is no universal standard for their use.

Typically, "sushi-grade" means:

  • Freezing: The seafood is frozen to specific temperatures to eliminate parasites. For example, salmon should be frozen at 0°F for 7 days or flash-frozen at -35°F for at least 15 hours.
  • Handling: The fish is caught quickly, bled, and gutted shortly after to maintain freshness.
  • Quality: The seafood is of exceptionally high quality and requires no additional processing beyond proper temperature control.

Our fishermen adhere to these standards of quality, freezing, and handling to ensure the freshest and safest seafood possible. However, we cannot make any guarantees or claims about raw consumption, and we recommend following your own discretion and any local guidelines when preparing raw seafood.

How do I store my seafood?

To maintain freshness and quality, store your seafood in the freezer at -18°C (0°F) until you’re ready to use it. When preparing to cook, you can thaw the seafood overnight in the fridge or use a quick-thaw method by placing it in a sealed bag and submerging it in a bowl of cold water. Proper storage and thawing ensure the best taste and texture for your meals.

How much space will it take in my freezer?

Our seafood is vacuum-sealed in compact portions, with many items being about the size of a paperback book, making them easy to store. Larger items, like cod, breaded haddock, and tuna, take up a bit more space but are still efficiently packaged to minimize bulk in your freezer.
