Ingredients & Materials

  • 1 Saku of Bluefin Tuna (approx. 8–10 oz)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Optional: lemon wedges and fresh herbs for serving
  • BBQ or grill
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Meat thermometer (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the BBQ or grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).
  2. Pat the tuna dry and rub with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the tuna Saku on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
  4. Remove from the grill and let the tuna rest for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Slice against the grain, serve immediately, and garnish with lemon wedges and fresh herbs if desired.
