Ingredients

  • 1 Saku of Bluefin Tuna
  • 1–2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 1–2 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil or neutral cooking oil
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving
  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula or tongs

Instructions

  1. Coat your tuna steak in a mixture of black and white sesame seeds.
  2. Sear each side in a hot skillet with a little oil for 1–2 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness. For best results, leave the center rare or medium-rare.
  3. Remove from heat and let rest briefly before slicing against the grain.
  4. Serve immediately with suggested sides like Asian slaw, rice or quinoa, and garlic soy sauce.
