Ingredients (for one portion)
- 6oz black cod fillet, skin on
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 small garlic clove, finely minced (or ¼ tsp garlic powder)
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- ½ tsp lemon zest
- Pinch of salt and black pepper
- Optional garnish: fresh parsley or chives, extra lemon wedge
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly oil it.
- Pat cod dry with paper towel and place skin-side down on the sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Brush or spoon the mixture generously over the fish.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the cod flakes easily with a fork.
- Optional: broil for the last 1 minute to give the top a light golden finish.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon before serving.
