  • 1 lb (450 g) cooked crab meat
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Optional: tartar sauce or aioli for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb (450 g) cooked crab meat, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Gently mix, keeping crab lumps intact.
  2. Form the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat 2–3 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook crab cakes 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your choice of sauce or side salad.
