Sourced from The Robicheau Family in Nova Scotia Waters

L.J. Robicheau & Son Fisheries is a family-owned seafood supplier with over three generations of expertise, founded in the 1960s by Llewellyn "Old Lew" Robicheau. Built on a foundation of delivering the finest quality seafood, the company has become a trusted provider. As an MSC-certified fishery, they prioritize sustainability, focusing on healthy fish stocks and ecosystems while adapting to environmental changes. Their dedication to quality and responsible practices makes them a reliable partner for premium, sustainably sourced seafood.

A premium chowder blend crafted from the finest seafood in Atlantic Canada. This 1 lb mix combines tender haddock pieces from the pristine waters of Digby, delicate scallop morsels from Shelburne, and sweet, succulent cold-water shrimp from the Bay of Fundy. Each component is carefully sourced and flash frozen to capture its peak freshness and flavour. Designed for ultimate convenience, chowder mix makes it easy to create a rich and flavourful chowder at home—just add your favourite seasonings, cream, and broth for a comforting, ocean-inspired meal.

All ingredients are wild-caught in Nova Scotia.

Cooking Recommendation

Thawing
1. Overnight: Place the chowder mix in the refrigerator to thaw slowly and evenly overnight.
2. Quick Thaw: For a faster option, keep the sealed bag of chowder mix submerged in cold water for about 30-45 minutes until thawed.

Cooking (Classic Seafood Chowder)
1. In a large pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion, 1 chopped celery stalk, and 1 chopped carrot. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add 2 cups of cubed potatoes and 4 cups of seafood or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add the thawed chowder mix to the pot, stirring gently. Season with salt, pepper, fresh thyme, or a bay leaf to taste.
5. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream (or milk for a lighter option), and let simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the chowder is warmed.
5. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve with crusty bread.

Enjoy the taste of the East Coast in every spoonful!

Getting Enough Seafood?
