Cooking Reccomendations
Thawing
- Overnight: Place the frozen halibut in the refrigerator overnight to allow for a slow, even thaw.
- Quick Thaw: For faster thawing, submerge the sealed bag of halibut in cold water for about 30-45 minutes, changing the water halfway through if necessary.
Cooking (Oven-Baked)
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove thawed halibut from packaging, and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season the fillets with salt, pepper, lemon zest, and your favorite herbs or spices. Add a drizzle of olive oil or a small pat of butter for extra richness.
- Place the fillets on a lightly greased baking sheet or in a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the halibut is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. (Exact time may vary based on thickness—check for doneness around 12 minutes).
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges and enjoy!
Over the years we have not enjoyed fish, tolerated it because it is good for us. After one bite of Larry's Catch halibut, we could not believe how fresh and different it tasted from what we had been consuming. Thank you for the fresh, delicious, catch! We look forward to the next delivery.
